Delsey lives on the Cape Cod Peninsula with her grandmother, but dreams of a "normal" family. An old friend is now ashamed to spend time with her, and other changes are not happy. And Delsey does not like surprises and unexpected twists. An unexpected acquaintance with a newcomer to the peninsula, Ronan, who has his own bitter experience behind him, helps her stay. Together they learn how to withstand the storm and overcome loneliness, pain, anger, the first disappointments in loved ones, as well as learn what true friendship, kindness and tolerance.
