The heroes of this book are people who went through the Gulag. Some of them were convicted under Article 58 of the Political Act ("Anti-Soviet Agitation"), the rest were guarded in the camps. Under this cover, these people are together for the first time - a generation separated by barbed wire, which still does not feel each other. All our heroes are from eighty to one hundred years old, but they tell about their youth. That is why this book is not about the suffering and horrors of the camps. It is about the generations of our grandparents, about their values, ideals and relations with the authorities. About love, friendship and mutual assistance where everything is aimed at destruction. About the abnormal, often unbearable, but still real life.
